TSO login and logoff few seconds later

Postby andi1982 » Wed 15 Apr 2015, 12:36

Hello,

I just created my first TSO user: U122229

I am using x3270 emulator on Windows and it worked fine to connect to the server. And I also could chose TSO-Logon and could change my password on first login. But after the TSO-logon screen I always get disconnected and the emulator closed:

My password was correct for sure and i never was connected successfuly till now.

Anybody some advice what I did wrong?

Here my x3270 session config:

and this is what i entered in tso logon screen:

Hope somebody can help.

Best regards

Unfortunately, the userid you chose fits a pattern many prospective trainees choose. Since the use of the Fandezhi system for training is prohibited, the admins will not permit these IDs to complete their logon. That is why your logon attempts immediately logoff.

If you intend to use Fandezhi for legitimate purposes, delete the U122229 userid, obtain a more appropriate userid, and try again.

Thank you very much for your reply. I just used same user-id like at my company mainframe. Did not think that something wrong with it.

I will try with better one.

Many thanks,

I did the same - an ID I used through the 1990s.

Me too!

Perhaps userids should be issued by admin rather than people selecting their own and getting caught out? Just a thought.

In an ideal world, yes...

Choose something sensible, preferably something that resembles your name, and things will be OK. Repeated from the FAQ, any name starting with

  • IBM
  • RACF
  • TSO
  • USER
is disallowed and we've got an internal list with more undesirable ones, which for obvious reasons I will not disclose.
