Volume FUSR24 is gone

Postby prino » Sun 23 Aug 2015, 21:39

If you had any dataset(s) on this volume, they are, at least for now, gone. There may be a backup of it somewhere, but until such a time that that might be restored to the volume, you will not be able to access any dataset that resided on this volume.

If you have backups, you can restore them, but to do so you will have to uncatalog the existing FUSR24 dataset first.

Hello Robert,

The dataset FERLAN.ISPTLIB was located on FUSR24. Will this have an effect? I never edited this dataset and I have no idea what's in it. Is it possible to copy a default system version of it?

Yours truly,

Rene - I suspect all you need is an empty FB/80/27920 PDS. Well, mine is FB/80/8880.

I would hesitate about doing anything radical. We should be able to get it back. Something else is going on here, but I doubt Prino can resolve it on his own. I sent a PM to Prino and another person about this.

Rene,

I've uncataloged the FUSR24 version and recreated a new (empty) one.

FUSR24 is back. It appears to be intact. Let's hope there are no more problems with the volume.

Robert - I think you can ignore some of the messages, such as the group at 22:19. If you see "BOXED" messages, just vary 0A74 online.

Robert, Steve,

Thank you both for your help. My TSO logon seems okay now, with no RACF violations anymore.

Best regards,

I got a message from a senior admin. The report is a hard drive that forms part of a RAID group where FUSR24 is located is either going bad or is bad. Since the drive is pretty elderly, it may be difficult to replace. That's all I know. I'm trying to move all of my stuff off FUS24 as I write this.
