OMVS Issue

Postby steve-myers » Sat 12 Sep 2015, 14:58

As many people know, there was a system outage September 11 to September 12. The outage was caused to upgrade the physical machine used to run the z/OS system.

During the IPL, we received these messages -

Code: Select all
IGW024E HFS DATA SET: SYSFAN.USER.HFS 633
INTERRUPTED DURING FILE SYSTEM SYNC. PROBABLE HFS CORRUPTION.
 READ-WRITE MOUNT REJECTED
...
BPXF002I FILE SYSTEM SYSFAN.USER.HFS WAS 636
NOT MOUNTED.  RETURN CODE = 000000A2, REASON CODE = 5B20013B
BPXF008I FILE SYSTEM HFS.U.DB8G 637
WAS NOT MOUNTED.
THE MOUNT POINT SPECIFIED IN BPXPRMFD DOES NOT EXIST.
The description for the first message appears to indicate the system was not shutdown correctly. We will attempt to correct this problem as soon as possible.

Unless we have a backup, things don't look well. :(
