IND$FILE improved performanc

Postby steve-myers » Thu 17 Mar 2011, 23:06

Over the last couple days I've noticed the performance of IND$FILE to do text downloads has greatly improved. Perhaps sysprog can tell us what he's done.

Not me!

If you need better performance, you had better to use FTP other than IND$FILE. As we shutdown the FTP server on mainframe side, you may consider to use FTP client on z/OS side.

Here is updated FAQ item for uploading files to mainframe:

Hi Sysprog,

Just curious, Won't out FTP client's requests fail if you shutdown FTP server on mainframe side??
Thanks

What sysprog is proposing is that you install an FTP server application on your PC and use the z/OS FTP client to connect to it.
