Hi,

I am a new user and during login I am getting following message,
"Sorry, cannot create a connection to the selected host."

Request you to kindly guide me how I can login for Mainframe through “IBMMF3270 Mainframe Emulator” and how can I configure the proxy settings.

Thanks & Regards,
Vikas

You may need to make sure you have a connection between your PC and our mainframe. It could be a problem if you connect from office, as some of your firewall may block outbound telnet.

In most case, it should be fine to connect to our mainframe from your home PC.

Could you try following commands to verify it?
1. From your PC, open command prompt (DOS window), and enter following FTP command to see if you get connected:
Code: Select all
ftp zos.efglobe.com

2. From your PC, open command prompt (DOS window), and enter following telnet command to see if you get connected:
Code: Select all
telnet zos.efglobe.com

And simply press Enter key to see if you get IKJ* messages.

If you could connect to our mainframe, you may then try another TN3270 emulator:

There is no login link, you have to use a terminal emulator to connect to the z/OS system. You can use X3270, which is free, or one of the many commercial ones. I personally use Tom Brennan's Vista.

After downloading X3270, you install it and then just follow the prompts. Give it a name, I'd suggest FanDeZhi and when it asks for a host to connect to, specify fandezhi.efglobe.com. Rest can remain as it is. let it save the session file to the desktop. Click on it to start.

Be aware that x3270 is pretty basic...
