I can't (and wouldn't, anyway) delete the dataset, but I did investigate the problem. It appears the SCRATCH macro - the agent that actually deletes datasets from VTOCs - had some sort of problem. There is an 8 hexadecimal digit code in the IEC331I message that accompanied the problem that might provide more information, though finding the table that lists these codes and acting on them is not so easy. Good luck!

I did lookup the codes in the IEC331I message. Two manuals, and 2 topics and 2 tables in the second manual! They talk about unable to delete the PDSE directory because it's "connected," whatever that means in this context. I would try to logoff (which you already did, so that's not an issue), logon and try the delete again.

Gone. This is an OS level bug, hope it will be fixed in the future.

This really goes back to what has been repeated - and ignored - time after time.

Fandezhi users must be self supporting.

Fandezhi does not have a storage management group that can lookup codes like this. You, the user, must spend the 10 minutes or so to find these codes and figure out how to respond to them.

Users that can't self support have no reason to be using Fandezhi.
